BBQs the Argentinean Way: Asados
After a morning of shooting, you’ll likely work up quite an appetite. Around noon, we gather in a shady area near the hunting field to enjoy a traditional Argentine BBQ (asado). It’s more than a meal—it’s a cultural event and one of the highlights of the hunting experience.
Many of our guests say the asado is among the most memorable meals they’ve ever had. C&C Outfitters’ chef Gino is truly a master of open-fire cooking. The asado features premium cuts of world-renowned Argentine beef, chicken, chorizos (sausages), fresh salads, pasta, desserts, and seasonal fruits. It’s all served with refreshing beverages, including a fine selection of Argentine wines.
The Argentine BBQ is enjoyed under shade trees or in a comfortable dining tent, using real tablecloths, china plates, and crystal glasses. Many hunters tell us this meal rivals the actual hunt in creating unforgettable memories of Argentina.
Other Traditional Argentine Dishes
After a long day of hunting, relax with a drink before dinner. Our chefs prepare meals using the finest local ingredients, accompanied by mineral water from the Andes or more award-winning Argentine wines.
Locro
This hearty and healthy stew is made from corn or wheat soaked overnight, then boiled with salted water, beef or pork, beans, squash, sweet potatoes, and more. After hours of slow cooking, it’s topped with a flavorful fried sauce made with fat or oil, onion, and chili.
Empanadas
Empanadas are a staple in Argentine cuisine and popular at festivals and family gatherings. These pastry pockets are filled with meat, onion, raisins, olives, and chopped boiled eggs. They can be fried or baked—either way, they’re delicious!
Carbonada
A classic of Creole cuisine, carbonada is a rich stew made by sautéing chili in fat, then adding beef cubes, hot water, chopped pumpkin, onion, tomato, and other vegetables like corn, sweet potatoes, and regular potatoes. It’s flavorful and comforting.
