As a full-time shooting instructor, I teach men, women, and children. As a female shooting instructor, I teach many women — and that means answering countless questions about guns suitable for women. • Cast and Pitch: These angles determine how the gun fits the shoulder. Women with broader chests often need more down pitch for proper comfort and recoil management.
• Grip: A narrower grip is ideal for smaller hands, ensuring a natural trigger reach and better balance.

Every “touch point” on a shotgun matters. A well-fitted gun allows for consistent mounting, reduces fatigue, and prevents improper habits such as canting or cheek slap.
